TEXAS PHOTOGRAPHER IS ELECTED AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF

HOUSTON, TX - Houston area photographer, Mike Scalf Sr, M.Photog.Cr; API, PPA Certified, has been elected as the new Executive Director of the Southwestern Professional Photographers Association. The vacancy for this position was created last October due to the untimely death of long time friend, Emile Navarre.

Mr. Scalf is currently the outgoing President of the Texas Professional Photographers Association and has served the region during the last several years as the Texas PPA Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Councilor. He has also served as President of the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston in 1996, which was preceded by six additional years as a Houston officer.

Mr. Scalf also currently serves as Secretary for the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum board of directors and is a member of the American Society of Photographers.

Mr. Scalf also serves on the national council of the Professional Photographers of America and on PP of A’s National “By Laws, Rules and Ethics Committee. He has received his Approved Photographic Instructor degree and provides programs at various conventions, seminars and workshops around the country. He is also in the process of achieving his PEC affiliated national judge certification.

The Southwestern Professional Photographers Association is a society of photographers, artists, videographers, photographic suppliers, and other associated craftsmen.

Founded in 1920, the SWPA membership currently encompasses the professional photographers in the five (5) state region which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
